What this policy covers
This policy describes what happens to the information you enter on this site, which The Heyl Group uses to prepare cash offers for homeowners considering selling.
It covers this site only. Other sites operated by the same company, and any site you reach by following a link from here, have their own policies.
What we collect
When you use the offer form, we store the property address you enter. If you continue, we also store your name, phone number, and email address, along with the timeline and contact preference you select if you provide them.
The property address is saved as soon as you complete the first step, before you have given us any contact details. If you stop there, that address is all we hold, and there is no way for us to contact you about it.
Our servers also record technical information sent automatically by your browser with each request: your IP address and your browser user-agent string.
If you arrive from an advertisement, we store the tracking identifiers in the link you followed. These identify the campaign, and in some cases the individual click, so we can tell which advertising produced a genuine enquiry.
How your property address is checked
To make sure an address is real and to correct typing mistakes, the address you enter is sent to Google to be looked up. Google returns a standardised version of the address and its map coordinates, which we store alongside your enquiry.
This lookup happens on our servers rather than in your browser. Google receives the address text; it does not receive your name, phone number, or email address as part of this lookup.
Advertising and measurement
We advertise on Google. To understand which advertising works, we tell Google when an enquiry we consider genuine has come from an advertisement, along with the click identifier from the link you followed.
For some enquiries we also send Google a scrambled (hashed) form of your email address and phone number so it can match the enquiry to the advertisement you clicked. Hashing means Google receives a fixed-length code rather than the address or number itself.
Under California law, sharing identifiers with an advertising company in this way counts as a "sale" or "share" of personal information, even though no money changes hands for your data. We are telling you plainly that it happens, and you can turn it off — see "Your choices" below.
We do not currently use Google Analytics, the Meta pixel, or any other analytics or advertising tool on this site.
Your choices
You can opt out of the advertising sharing described above using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link at the bottom of any page on this site. Selecting it records your choice in your browser and stops the personalised-advertising signals from being sent.
Because the choice is stored in your browser, you will need to make it again in a different browser, on a different device, or after clearing your browsing data.
Opting out does not withdraw your agreement to be contacted, and it does not delete an enquiry you have already submitted. Use the contact details in this policy for those.
Agreeing to be contacted
If you complete the contact step, you tick a box agreeing that The Heyl Group may contact you by call, email, and text about real estate services, including by automated means. That box is never ticked in advance, and the form cannot be completed without it.
Some of those messages are sent automatically rather than typed by a person at the time. That is what "including by automated means" in the box refers to.
We store the exact wording you agreed to, together with the time you agreed, so that a later change to the wording can never be confused with what you actually saw.
You can opt out of messages at any time by replying STOP to a text, or by using the unsubscribe link in an email.
Who else sees your information
Your enquiry is available to The Heyl Group so that a team member can review the property and follow up with you.
Google receives the information described in "How your property address is checked" and "Advertising and measurement" above, and our hosting and database providers necessarily process it in order to run this site.
We use outside companies to handle enquiries and to contact you, and they receive the details you submit in order to provide those services to us. Your name, phone number, email address, and property address are sent to Follow Up Boss, the system our team manages enquiries in, and to Fello, which sends text messages on our behalf. Resend delivers the internal email that tells our team a new enquiry has arrived, and handles the same details in doing so.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we are working with you and afterwards as a business record. We do not currently delete them automatically after a set period.
If you want your information removed, ask us and we will delete it, except where we are required to keep a record.
How to make a request
To ask what we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, or to opt out of the sharing described above, email courtney.jenkins@heylrealestate.com.
We will not treat you differently for making a request.
